Splendide Ballerina Apricot Cascading Begonia

(10-12″ tall) Easy to grow in containers and hanging baskets, ‘Apricot’ Splendide Ballerina Begonia puts on a spectacular show early summer through fall. Enjoy a flurry of  hummingbirds visiting the flowers. Tuberous begonias grow best with regular moisture, however, it’s best to avoid soggy soils. You can get a jump start on spring by starting begonia tubers indoors in the late winter. Plants are ideally suited to containers, but can also be grown in ground. When planting, identify the top and bottom of the tuber. Set tubers with the concave, indented side facing up and the rounded, knobby side pointing down. If planting in the garden, take care to prepare soil with rich organic material and feed regularly. Plants are not frost hardy, so wait until the threat of frost has passed to set out tubers, and dig up in autumn for winter storage.
