Scarlet Flame Creeping Phlox

4-6″ tall x 12-24″ wide. ‘Scarlet Flame’ is a selection of the North American native creeping phlox beloved for dramatic spring blooms. This variety blooms mid- to late-spring and is stunning layered beneath bulbs and other seasonal blooms. The thick carpet of deep green foliage makes an ideal edger or border planting, and works magic in the rock garden. Use it to line garden paths or spill from containers. Quick-growing and dependable, ‘Scarlet Flame’ tolerates a variety of growing conditions and soils. In addition to cold, plants tolerate heat and humidity. Plants perform best when planted so the crown rests just at or slightly above the soil surface. This pet-friendly selection will attract butterflies to the spring garden, and resists deer and rabbit browsing. Provide good drainage.
